Its pretty simple, they work on a dairy farm, Have several workers, with no time to walk around a farm...., so they need vehicles, which are 3 suzukis because thats best suited for them. Its not going to be practical to have 1 and share it around. And as said, moving stock on a stock truck 2kms down the road is going to be a stupidly unnecessary cost. Kinda pissing me off that people seem to know more about these farmers than the farmers themselves.....

Whats even more simple is the fact that he has stated he runs 30" tyres, so why would you need to lift a Suzuki more than 100mm for farm work? If it isn't lifted more than that, there would be no need for joining a club, if it's over, just drop it, surely under 100mm lift will still get you round the farm?

its also the $400 cost for someone to take 10minutes to check that u tightened 10 or whatever bolts up.

Have you seen how body lifts effect body mounts, or the forces changed on the bodymouts after a body lift?

Jackpot! Don't worry Gordon, not all southern farming folk are expect the public's road is for their stock.

For the most part stock movement shouldn't be done on the roads, shit is hard on vehicles and on the roads which are bad enough anyway!

Anyway, back to the thread, we wanna see a 4 inch lifted suzuki carry!!!

Some interesting reading here guys! lol
Just doing a build atm and this new law going to affect me a little, just after a bit of clarification. If i have a total lift over 100mm i require cert and have to join a 4wd club, If under 100mm i just require cert?
Did i get this rite or wrong?

If so dose anyone know the factory height of a ln130/ln131 surf? lol
Thanks

we require wofs to legally drive on the rd.
to get a wof we will now require a authority card and cert

So your farm hack will be running over 4" lift? If not, you should NOT need an authority card.
Nothing else has changed, if you need to get a cert, the rules are the same.

farm rego class b,do wot ya like , i have been for years before i got certed for ute conversion ,turbo, etc,
no RUC'S no WOF needed but a always had one
and less than $50 a year for rego

my cert cost $570 all up on my safari, ute conversion, roll cage,turbo,35's,rims,intercooler,front diff moved forward, panard rods, rear trail arms,2 seats, steering wheel yes you have to get that done aswell, even my bonnet scoop has to be done.3inch exhaust,4 inch coil lift etc.if aint factory get it certed dont matter how small, this includes coil spacers if you have them

$570 aint alot of money that will only just buy 2 decent tyres, and your fines will exceed this now,and hope it never happens but a un certed fourby in a crash, weather its a safe mod or not ur in da shit if it aint certed mods no insurance etc.

Tyres aren't included. Mine was measured from the centre of the wheel hub to the bottom of the wheel arch

rules as they are now

springs and shocks . all out of the virm

b) the vehicle requires unreasonable force to steer, or
c) the steering is unreasonably stiff, rough or light, or
d) the vehicle does not handle safely under normal
conditions of road use, eg the suspension is
excessively hard or soft, or there is excessive body
roll.

• the springs or shock absorbers are direct replacements, and
• replacement springs are contained within unmodified OE seats throughout full
suspension travel, and
• replacement springs are self-retaining in their seats at full extension, without the use of
non‑standard devices such as wire-ties, straps, or external spring locators, and
• replacement springs have not been heated or cut, and
• springs and spring seats are not height adjustable (unless OE), and
• replacement shock absorbers, including air-adjustable units, fit unmodified OE
mountings, and
• suspension maintains sufficient travel for safe operation when fully laden, and
• suspension components maintain sufficient clearance from unmodified bumpstops
when fully laden, and
• a minimum of 100 mm ground clearance (unladen and without driver) exists below any
part of the vehicle structure, or any steering, braking or suspension component2, and
• the normal relationship between front and rear suspension height is not unduly affected.
2 Does not include such items as exhaust pipes and

and body lifts

3. A modification affects the vehicle structure – including an object or fitting affixed after manufacture that is welded to the chassis, sub-frame, cross-member or body of a monocoque structure, and
a) is not excluded from the requirements for LVV specialist certification (Table 3-1-1), and
b) is missing proof of LVV specialist certification, ie:
i. the vehicle is not fitted with a valid low volume vehicle certification plate, or
ii. the operator is not able to produce a valid modification declaration or authority card.

i would say may need a cert
all up to the inspectors discretion if it affects handling or the vehicles structure

For the sake of $500 I'd be getting a cert rather than risk no insurance. Another case of certifiers not having the same standards. You could take the same vehicle to 3 different guys, all 3 would have different opinions.
