Compression test extension

Post by cbfb »

Got a problem with the new truck and want to check compression.

Problem is the plug holes are recessed pretty deep (it's a Suzuki G16A) so I can't screw in my tester. 12mm thread.

What I need is an extension with a male thread on one end and a female thread on the other end.

If anyone has one I can borrow that would be awesome, if not then I need to make something.

I've heard of guys chopping the end off a spark plug and welding a tube to that, but can't figure out what to do about the female end... Any ideas?

Have looked for ones you can buy but nothing cheap came up and can't find any in NZ at all without buying a whole new kit which is obviously a waste of money.

For the other end just buy a nut with the right thread and weld it onto your bit of pipe, I am guessing it is metric fine thread.

Actually not as easy as it sounds, Steelmasters, EDL and Blackwoods can't get a 14mmx1.25 nut :(

Find some one with a tap and make one.

Yeah that's the plan at the moment, got someone who's going to take a look at it for me. Even if we can't make one, he's got a longer compression tester.

Cheers
