unpredictable steering.

Post by fish »

my xj cherokee has lately developed a strange habit on the road. it wont hold a straight line at higher speed and is very squirmish and i seem to have to constantly correct it.
since it began ive had a wheel alignment, new ball joints front, upper and lower. ive crawled under and as far as i can tell it looks all straight and true under the front. any ideas,
it passed a warrant like this but its not fun to drive.

By saying you have done upper and lower ball joints, I assume the front is double A arm, yes?
If not and there is a panhard rod in there, replace the bushes in that as well.
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!

Nope no lift standard as. Bushes you say?
Well i couldn't tell ya if it had a Panhard rod or not. (how embarrassing)
At first i thought it was a sway bar problem.
