I would be checking to see if its been in a crash as its got the facelift front end from the 1999+ bighorns.

They arent the cheapest to run as in the other posts they get about 550kms max but then I can tow 2t behind it and get a very similar distance and they can take a decent beating without complaining

Mine is manual just put a H/D excedy clutch in and that cost me $680 (trade) but the retail price was around the $1100 mark. also done about 290kms on the clock with the origional motor.

great trucks if driven well mine has now got its 4th gearbox since I have owned it and thats because the ones I purchased were faulty and 3rd time lucky the one they sent was a decent runner but then that blew last weekend and now the 4th one is in and that one is perfect.

I would definately go for a manual over a auto.

I've had my 1993 since 1999 and I'm still very happy with it. (Only quibble is that turning circle isn't great). Yes, it is a bit thirsty on modern standards and that 550km (highway) is about right. Mine is automatic and it works well off-road. My strong advice would be to get one with limited slip diff (option code G80 on plate on firewall) and make sure it has LSD oil in the diff. And in contrast to a P**j**o of same vintage there is room to sleep in the back of a Bighorn.
