Re: anyone using efs extreme shocks? feedback wtd
x2. I nearly got extreme's about 3 years ago but ended up getting Procomps from Aust.
They've been ok but a bit soft...wish I had got the efs instead really.
Most forum stuff I have read seems to indicate they are pretty good but would like more info as well.

O for awesome. I love mine. Made quite a difference, much to my surprise. Good warranty too.
I have found them not too stiff for all on-road and off-road situations. Helps the body roll when you don't have sway bars
Much recommended.
Cheers,

I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!
Re: anyone using efs extreme shocks? feedback wtd
I think Traxion is one supplier for them, 4wdBits and possibly Autolign might have them.
Might start checking prices for them myself.

Re: anyone using efs extreme shocks? feedback wtd
i put efs extremes in my safari just after xmas and i wish i had done them earlyer, i can run my tires at 30 pound off road and its still a better ride than 20 pound with raw shocks.
Re: anyone using efs extreme shocks? feedback wtd
I have been running a twin shock set up in the comp truck for a few years now ,Great shocks very happy with performance and service from both Traxion and 4wdbits

what didnt you like about them?
They dont seem to have much resistance on the rebound stroke, but i guess it depends on the set up that you run with spring rates , bumpstops ect.
I won a couple of comps on them, so they work ok, but I find the truck feels and handles a lot better with the nitro sports on the front.
The Nitros have only done two comps so far and a couple of club trips, so a bit early to comment on how long they last.
But they will be getting a hiding at the manukau comp, so i will report back after that.
Cheers

cheers for the info mate, have herd mostly good things about them, so have gone ahead and brought a 4ich lift for the safari. guess will see after a few trips.
also with the kit got a pair of castor corection plates, never seen these before. dose anyone here use them? what eles can you use?, dropboxes etc? looks like they drop the arms a bit wich im not that keen on ,so will try without first an see what it rides like. any info would be handy

Re: anyone using efs extreme shocks? feedback wtd
Plates attach to the diff/arms. On a 4" or higher I always preferred drop boxes or arms. Boxes drop the arms down so they are level with the chassis again, but do hang low(ish). Although I would scrape them, I never got hung up on them.
If money allowed, I'd run the Superior Flex arm again, made a big difference, and would run the 80 series shocks up front (longer stroke), but you need to lift the front shock towers which is a lot easier when running a bodylift.
Remember, as well as normal bits to do with lifts, adjust your bumpstops accordingly, and brake proportioning valve bracket (these are normally overlooked)
My 2c

I would like to think that you won't be dissapointed..there's lots on the Patrol forum I could put up and most comments reckon they are brilliant!
Only read a couple of possible negatives and that is that they are too stiff when the truck is unloaded, plus that the rebound is stiff/slow so coming off a step/rock/ledge then the wheel may not drop as fast.
I've got new rear coils arriving in a couple of weeks and when I fit them I will set the suspension up to replace my Procomps with Extreme's as well.
