A bit early but that dosent matter, spent heaps of time doing shit on the 40 series recently, we pulled the engine out and put a new clutch in it last week, went over to Sig's place yesterday and pulled the longfields out of my flatdeck and stuck them in the 40 series





Stuck an ARB compressor in the truck and re-plumbed the diff locks into it and fixed all the leaks in the onboard air system running off the A/C pump





Had the radiator shroud modified to fit the bigger viscous fan I stuck on it a while back





Re-ran the battery cables and shifted the isolation switch to where I can reach it





spent a couple of thousand hours tracing out dodgy wiring loom earths to get stoopid shit like the 4wd light working, I get pretty forgetful these days are are always forgetting to turn 4wd on and off ended up abandoning the 4wd light wiring and ran a new cable down to the transfer box and got it all hooked up and working properly







replaced the wiper blades and did heaps on small shit that always needs doing but you never get around to doing it

Mine started on Tuesday.
Trying to get the truck ready for a day out on patrol in Woodhill.
Tidied up some switches and wiring in the dash and out into the engine bay.
Put in a 2nd Gear switch to force the auto into 2nd and hold.
Finished off the hatch for the PTO winch shear pin location. Just needs a catch to hold it closed.
Then started playing with my 18yr olds first car....He got a MR2 old shape. Needs a tidy up for a WOF. only cost him 1K... So hes all keen to tinker with it.
Borrowed a winch rope from Monstr (Cheers Mate )for the electric (Just in case I have issues with the PTO)
Now its lunch and get ready for work tonight and out the door Sat am with the kids on Patrol.

Well, after 2 hours sleep, got up at 4am friday morning, drove to the airport and got on a silver budgie at 730 bound for Fiji. arrived nadi @ 1030. picked up a near new Jiminy rental. drove via 2 resorts for lunch and a few swims to suva to arrive at 530pm for dinner at my mother's place. gotta love 28 deg evenings drinking duty free vodka
got a screw in left rear tire and it was fully deflated after 30mins of arriving. tomorrows mission is to get it fixed without telling the rental company so as they don't hoover my credit card for some $$$.
have a huge week planned, drinking sleeping and swiming in the tropical heat (anyone jealous yet?)
Will post some pics later of the rental and some neat stuff.
T2 project on hold for 10 days or so

well final done tappets and changed the oil and filters on the old whale what a difference it makes doing tappets all ready for west coast next w/e well nearly if get time will weld rocksliders on next week at work

Got new sparkplugs for the Lada. Again. Hotter burning ones this time, for when it's working properly.

Also got carb cleaner, and ordered new ignition leads.

But the stoopid rain stopped me from actually doing anything

Had a great day out in woodhill on patrol, was the only one who turned up .
Took a work mate around on the easy tracks (stock Nissan Pathfinder), he had a ball.
Then had a play with the new PTO setup.
As I was on my own just decided to winch up some steep backs.
It pulls nice and hard, a real difference to the electric.
Slow in first but as the auto goes up thru the gears it just flys, not like the competition boys but sounds "choice".
I even forgot to release the handbrake on one winch
Freespool worked fine, and the rope spooled onto the drum nicely.
Even winching backwards down a hill section worked nice.
This was all dead winch with no drive.
Only down side to the day was as I was driving home on State hi-way 16 a tyre sound got louder and louder. Truck felt a little strange. Pulled over to find a flattie , steaming away in the rain.
Spare is still a new 33 which looks strange when replacing a 35.
The 35 had picked up a nail .
Oh well get it fixed next week sometime.

hit the gwavas forest for a bit of a fang about over some of the coolest laid out tracks in some of the most wicked forest acess in the area! some massive stages, the "tardis" being most noteable for its near vertical drop down ( about 30m i think...it seemed like 30 KM!!) some of the stages we did at nite were so much fun, very tight in big nissans/cruisers!

a absoluetly great teams eventwith a fantastic organising team, its well worth getting a team together for the next one!!, shame its every 2 years!

Fixed rattles all day yesterday , wow what a difference.
Turned chippy today a built a whole rear wall on my mates unfinished garage, know have a covered work shop and place to store one Zuk.

started new job this week and got a new puppy as well

so by the time the weekend rolled around I was shattered, but still managed to adjust the wheel bearings install new 35" mudstars and give the old bus a wheel alignment, then cruise home and build a new gate to keep the puppy in

well wired up the spotlights on my zuk and painted front bumper. after much confusion found why lights weren't working, a corroded fuse. Replaced all good now.

Looks like head gasket is starting to go too. Bloody typical.

got land rover dropped off at mechanics saturday morning... she's going to be really bastardized now with a toyota gearbox and transfer case. then swept garage out and reorganized my tools, i washed a decent amount of woodhill down the drain...

today helped caleb (uwsho) fit his new 2" lift rear springs and had a quick lesson and some practice in arc welding.

Had an awesome day yesterday up at the bombing range north of Murawai! Was up there with Drurban, Hilux Dan and Churchill. Will get some vids up in a couple of days! Wicked day out, Jeep was cranking all day long!

Was another fairly quiet weekend...

apart from frying my alternator on friday night i tried pulling it out on sunday in between rain showers got it almost out then got side tracked ( i blame you Andy ) ended up putting in my 2" lift springs.

Sump's off, It wasn't a leprechaun.

Will have to sell some crap to pay for new engine...
...luckily I got a few spare projects I can part with at this stage.
