wjw wrote:Ok, From experience, my ideal mix is:
1. Truck mount 5 Watt PRS Radio with decent aerial
2. At least one 0.5 Watt Handheld PRS Radio
3. GPS with external Antenna for truck, either built into no 1 or seperate unit
I have 1 and 2 and a hand held GPS.
I have a gme TX3200 http://www.gme.net.nz/uhf_transceivers.html

and a couple of FlyBuys handhelds
I also have - but hardly use - as the radio part is illegal in NZ - 2 garmin Rhino 120's and 1 garmin Rhino 520 GPS Radios - you can set one up with OziAPRS on a Laptop and show on the map the other units - download their track logs etc

id say it was a cheap toy... bit of a gimmick really
Their not a cheap toy. I have the truck mount version of this and I find it quite good. It has waypoints trip computer, etc etc and a radio range of 25kms, also all the mounted speed camera postions. It doesn't have the maps or little worm showing your track. It does give you a compass to navigate to your waypoints though. f you can afford the extra go for the truck mount and buy a cheap handheld.
