Re: Maxxis Mudzilla any good,
nothing bro, very noisy on the road, but will have to save up for at least two replacements a little later, so thought start pricing up and saving some coin, wondered if something like kl71's would be ok or something else? i saw a few of the other boys on here seem to like them, but there is some doubt to if they are any good on big heavy trucks?
Re: Maxxis Mudzilla any good,
maxxis bighorn 764's are awsome, the mudzilla is great to but only going forwed and not so good on sidlings, had a big talk with the maxxis rep and he reckons there best tyre is a trepodore, but i recomend the latest bighorn 764
Re: Maxxis Mudzilla any good,
run bighorns on my saf, mint all rounders, good onroad maners, great for river bed driving, only thing there not that great for is real muddy s$^t.
rough 'n' ready
Re: Maxxis Mudzilla any good,
Hey,
just to add to the comments about Mudzilla's. They are a soft compound tyre, so wear out FAST and they are noisy on the tarmac. But they do look the part.
You have to learn how to drive them, not as easy as you think. They are great under power but loose all their grip if they are not being pushed forward. That can be disconcerting when driving on sidlings or down hill, its not easy for your brain to tell your foot to accelerate when every part of you is screaming for the brake pedal! They also dig holes, not so good in sand, it's a funny feeling as you floor it in in the sand you can feel yourself getting lower and lower, slam it into reverse and it digs it self back out. just have to make sure you do it before you are beached-as bro

Mudzillas are great in the mud, they don't like wet rock etc, however they wear out quick and you have to keep them moving on sidelings.

Re: Maxxis Mudzilla any good,
i used to have a set of 33 mudzillas and they were really good in the mud, even in reverse they were ok but i lost about 1mm of tread driving from dunedin to queenstown and back and they seemed to cut really easy when doing skids in the mud. have gone to 35 kl71s now

Cool, Yeah the tread pattern is similar to the new wranglers and they go real well, sharp lugs, Look forward to seeing how these go.
