GQ brakes

Post by coxsy »

the saf past its wof last saturday but the rating on the brakes at 52% was crap, so pulled the calipars last night and all brake hoses, getting caplipars serviced they need new seals and back one pistons sticking, and order new braided brake lines and standard brake pads, if this doesn't inprove the brake effort, will go to groved discs and another pad material

shit brakes can be more than just calipers and brake hoses
might have had air in the system or a slow leaking seal in the master cylinder
also check if pads are glazed or cracked.

shit coxsy we seem to be doing exactly the same, first the turbo now brakes, reconed all four of my calipers this week and 2 hoses replaced, rears had been done by previous owner by the look of them but fronts needed doing, oddly enough it didnt make much difference with the 35 simexes on, pulled up well with 33s, i am a bit bothered by that as its going for cert next week or so..might have a look at the master cyl this week..

best solution would be the petrol calipers and rotors but cant find any.. i thought i had bought a set a while ago but they turned out to be from an early GU and dont fit behind 15'' rims, i reconed them and bought new discs before i realised, cost me plenty and peeeeed me off a touch, still got them!!!

when i lifted mine brakes were crap so had to adjust the load propotion valve on the back and that fixed it and its fine on 35s got 75% on brake rollers
