Sliders are done also but forgot to take a pic.. you get that..lol
Will add them once they are bolted on too..
I have also glued on the seals etc on the lid and is just about all bolted down.. looking for the bolt covers to glue on and it needs a touch up where some tape peeled off the paint.. :x but otherwise just about there.
Need new springs andother 2"front and 3-4 back and it'll be sitting where i want it.
hooks need a home..
winch hooked up and checked again
tahs
and a few bits and bobs..

Image
and
Image
Also got drivers side slider on but no pic again.. will take one once I have it bolted to the front bar and flair screwed up. Managed to get some old conveyor belt which is ideal.. about 8-10 mm thick reinforced rubber..
It should look the part anyways. Just things take so bloody long as almost everything is custom made..
More to come later.. cheers

 Well bit of an update..
New springs are on back and is now sitting approx 4" higher than std..
Front then needed another 50mm to balance this out.. as it already had a 2"std lift, lifting it approx 3-4" sooo added some plastic bump stop spacers which work a treat and should be no problem with cert as the coil is still captive.. :P
Image
After I had that done I then had to add flares etc to bar work to help keep the shyt from flying everywhere..lol
Image
From there I added a spring fpr the winch setup.. No air dog clutch yet.. as I ran out of time for a test run..
Image
And as we were going to do a test run.. thought we might need a mascot so wife decided to get one.. 8)
Image
And seeing as it wasn't cert'd either, we had to trailor it.. Proud as punch too
Image
Notice the new tahs on the back.. 8) Had to put the skinnies on it to get it on the trailor..LOL
Seeing as it was a test drive.. We headed to Coppermine Creek.. 8) , Well the weather wasn't particularly nice to us.. and we had to pull the pin on the second stage further up ( for those that know where I mean) as the river was rising fast... , On the flip side.. the first stage was like.. I can't describe how it went as I drove almost everything..( old truck got stuck soo many times it wasn't funny anymore..) Here is a couple pics..
Image
and
Image
and
Image
Notice the rain..
Winch went very well.. Happy about that as it had a major problem before we left..
Only a couple things to finish off.. Like stopping the water from pissing in through the seals around the cab..
Fix the demister fan.. that decided to stop just when it was getting foggy..lol
Put a long brake line extension on front...( the 2 I have together might raise an eye brow or 2 when certing etc..
Finish the mudd flaps..
Get Air for winch working..
Change pto seal as it's leaking..
Get some Simexs... LOL

All in all it is a completely different animal now and considering I have open diffs front and rear it really showed how good it is setup as I could drive just about everything.. Get some simexs and lockers and man alive watch out.. 8)
Was considering a supercharger too but after the weekend.. I don't think I need it.. It is very light as it is.. Just need to get it on a weigh bridge to verify it's weight..
Hoping we have a video of it too when I smashed a buddies drivers side window.. from giving it the fat ...lol I love the sound it makes when at 6700 rpm.. Just have to track that down..
Will post it up if we got it.. Not much left to do.. thankfully..

Oh forgot to mention that we filled it up... 90ltrs of 98oct at $2+ / ltr.. basiclly $200 to fill it .. BUT i still have 2/3 tank left.. and I travelled around 200km.. so I'm guessing it's good for around 500-600 kms / tank.. not too bad I think..

Hey man, nice truck. I deal with a lot of this stuff at work and was wondering if you had a pivot or slot in the actuator system some where? The looks like it works off a pivot system and we normally pivot the cylinder at the back to make them last longer. Maybe there is one there and I can't see it?

What I did was check the way the rams throw was and as you can see by the angle of it.. it basiclly runs in a straight line with minimal radius + at only 40mm throw it's bugger all + I have a lot of play in the bolt setup etc for the little differences there are.. :)
To be honest I hadn't thought about it like that.. I could easily drill another hole next to the one there and make it slide.... may help but I did this all by myself.. and it's a bit hard to flick the switch and then see how it goes..lol
I'll check it over the weekend with a mate..

Cool, the slop in the bolts will probably do the trick.

Well bit of an update, Nothing much really but have had Peter Watson round to check things ready for cert.. Only thing I need is a hoop round the driveshaft.. as apparently there is a new rule for modified trucks.. so I have to do that then he's checking the plate status and is going to try get the chassis, vin numbers etc sorted and hopefully I don't need a re vin and it'll work out as a re chassis which will save me lots of $$$$ but either way it's going to get certed.. just depends on when and cost..lol
Still got the mud flaps to finish and a couple little things.. and again maybe more lift.. dammit..lol
Battery need replacing as I left the RT on over a week and now it's only 1 volt..   so will try to re charge it.. more cost.. and also I going to need a couple 35's for when I do cert it as I'm going to cert with both sets.. that way I can tic the box's for insurance etc.. give them NO excuse..lol

Thats it

GDMFKER  .. have to strip the top off the gawd dam mota now to git the farking thing out.. BAHH   and it'll be like a 5-7 hour job...... ZzzZZzzZZzzZZzz fking thing..lol

ok bit of an update, pulled starter mota out and it took about 1 hour..lmao.
this is how it looked after the top was off
Image
then
Image
I then had to drill the top off the screws as they were stuck.. :(
Image
After a bit of WD40 they just unscrewed easy. Took everything to bits to find 1 bearing had crap in it so I popped the seal, brake cleaner, squirt of wd40 poped seal back in and it all sweet as.. lol I know I should have changed the bearing BUT everything was closed or they didn't have it..zzz
Had to clean the reduction gearing and re grease it..
Image
After all that I assembeld it and used some sealant around the outside just to help( if it does all good if not then no harm in trying)
Image
Notice the positive air fitting.. the old breather tube was basicly in the bottom of the V and so I reckon it was just letting shyt get into everything, SOoo I reckon this will help.. at least keep the water level higher.. I'll be running + air pressure when I get the right bits for it in the future..
Also I have some caster correction plates to fit.. later today.
Cheers thats it.. K

Dunno if its a issue on you truck or not, but on my hilux its impossible to get the startermotor bolts undone because of the firewall being so close, so I drilled the starter bolt holes out to 10 or 12mm and then tapped the holes in the block to suit.
By using capscrews and a ball end allen key, I can bolt in the starter from the front.
Made the job heaps easier

Yea I hear ya on that BUT i have plenty of room behind to get my hand right around the back and use a 1/2 drive.. otherwise I could of seen this job taking hours just to get the bloody bolts out..lol
I did think aout doing what you have done but because I have the room.. thought to leave it as is.
Here is a pic.. 8)

There is NO update..

Only thing I have got on is caster correction kit and seems to make a big difference on road which is wut I was hoping for..
Front doesn flex as much as i was hoping for but back is great.
Also need either hydro bump stops or another set of shocks..(debating this) otherwise im reasonbly happy.

Will post up a pic or 2 shortly ..they on my phone..

Merry Xmass everyone.

Try puting a rear wheel up on the bank, the front should flex more then.
Nice work

Well she's been a bit of a long wait for updates.. just been trying to save for some bits and bobs.. but i did do a couple things that were annoying me..
Changed steering column as I didnt have the plastic surround that went with the tilted column.. now just a fixed job.
Also made up the driveshaft loop..
started with this as I had been on the hunt for some for a while..
Image
then made it like this
Image
and
Image
Attached it to the floor useing some small self tappers
Image
and
Image
and it looks like its on the piss but at full droop its about parallel
Image
Just need to place some 5mm plate inside and bolt it to the floor.. will adjust as I see fit..if it not quite right..
Well thats bout it for a bit..

The driveshaft hoop ive just put on mine for cert sits a lot futher forward on the slip joint as was told must be in the first 200mm of the centre of the front uni and gives way more clearance being on the smaller part of the shaft to lift it higher. and woohoo got cert plate commin next week gonna be legal again

Yea I spoke to Peter and he said the same thing but also suggested I make a 2 part loop.. having the main part bolted up nice and high and then making a second bit which is the main loop and hangs down for cert removable.. which i can see working but a real pain as id remove it for any wheeling.. :? My shaft steps up at 220 which means my loop si going to sit either on the step or just before it.. Just Peter has said he has seen the slip split and thats why he would like it near or on the main shaft.. hinking i might have no choice but make a 2 part loop.. any thoughts anyone?

Update.. well there is no update  But i did go for a spin into Macetown today with a mate and had a blast.. 2"of ice over the hole that had water in and the truck went superb.. just need to sort out the winch noise.. under stress it dont sound good..( looking at shell tivela instead of the normal 80 gear oil.. ) Need to balance front to rear.. And driveshaft hoop..(mmm still thinking about that one)
When I got home there was about 20mm ice around the whole front end..lol but truck was awesome.. seeing as it was only 2nd time out driving reasonably hard..
Oh another thing im going to do is double shock the front..
Going to get it ready for our winch challenge in October.. Should be a blast.. 8)
Ill thtow some pics up when I get them off Al if he sends them to me..hehe
