As above. A mate at work is looking at a v6 paj swb softy, manual done 131k.
What sort of things should he be way of and on the lookout for? What price to get a clutch sorted as the present owner had mentioned it was slipping a little in high gears on the hills. Could this be indictaive of some other problem too?
Cheers,
Heath
what to lookout for in a 96 swb softop pajero v6
Re: what to lookout for in a 96 swb softop pajero v6
3.5?
If it is then the clutch is a bit dearer - they are a pull type clutch. And it is typical of them to go west about then, mine only made it to 80k. The 3.0 is a conventioal clutch.
Generally speaking they are pretty robust. Let it idle for a couple of minutes and then give it a rev to see it is smokes at all - valve stem seals are the culprit here, not doing any harm, just a bit annoying. They can be fixed however to clear the smoking at idle problem.
