Buying a mitsi pajero unwarranted

Post by benos1116 »

Hey, i'm currently looking for a 4wd and came up with this wagon, it's currently unwarranted because of a wheel bearing, idler arm to comply and a couple of other things. Does anybody know about this idler arm? would it be hard to get fixed? Cheers.

I'm no expert by any means, but.....these would be my concerns,

That wagon has been for sale for ages.
"Clean and recheck diesel pump" would be my worry. 2k for a reconditioned one + injectors. (Going from receipts from one I owned very briefly)

My brother had one of these non turbo's, and figured it was gutless pushing around 2.2 tons plus.

I'm also quite suspect of diesels that do very minimal mileage. There could be very valid reasons, but I would be looking closely at any service history.

With out knowing what you want it for, I reckon there are plenty others to choose from for a bit more coin.

Umm.........................Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!  You couldnt pay me to own that!!!!!

For one, the 2.8 is an ok engine with a good amount of power..................when it has got a turbo on it. When it hasnt, it is a hateful piece of underpowered crap!!!

Two, those warrant failures could be nothing major and only cost you a couple of hundy to fix, or they could be a bloody major and cost a couple of K!!!! You wont know until you get into it and thats a pretty big gamble.

Three, it only a Poverty Pack (base model) there are plenty out there with lots of bells an whistles and alot more comfort than that.

And lastly, its over priced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 10c anyway.

The idler is an easy fix.

But yes it is the poverty pack. This means it has leaf springs in the rear, drum brakes, no carpets and most importantly no turbo....
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)
