I've been lurkin around here because I've decided to get a Safari or somthing similar. I need a fairly tough, reliable, and economical truck for work (possum trapper). At the moment I use a Mazda cabplus B2600 '96, it's ok but it chews through the gas and it's a bit small in the cab area for all the junk I'd like to carry with me. It is handy in that I can fit the 4wheeler on the back, just. I thought I'd get a 4 dr wagon with a trailer and see how it goes.
I've been looking at trademe and I'm thinking a Safari with a TD42, and hopefully a winch, '89-'90, 200+ ks would do the trick. Looks like they go for 4-6 grand.
Any comments or thoughts? Anyone want to swap a petrol ute for a diesel Safari:wink:? Anything in particular I should look at/for when inspecting a truck?
PS I have one of these too, it sits in the shed mainly I only get it out when I need a wheelbarrow in the garden, or when I go down the back paddock for firewood
