LN60 front shocks
I have just installed new 2'' raised ome springs in the front of my surf only to find that the existing maxitrac shocks(installed by previous owner) are now fully extended on the flat. Is there a shock option available other than the likes of the more common brands? Thanks.

Re: LN60 front shocks
heaps of options for shocks, you need to figure out required length.....simple job for a 2inch lift
take front shocks off completely
cross vehicle up, ramp, bank, jacks etc
measure compressed side (between mounting points)
measure extension side (between mounting points)
head to Ripco, autolign, or similar and get eye to pin shocks that comply with your measurements both extended and compressed and you're done
have you extended bump stops to stop springs inverting

Try some standard height ones out of the back of a 60 series Cruiser. If they dont work you can always take them back
I think they'll work tho.

There's more to shocks than just the length compressed or extended. There is bounce, rebound, and valving to consider if you want then to work as intended.
If you fitted Old Man Emu springs then I suggest you also fit their longer shocks as they have done the development work and will match the spring rates of the springs you fitted.
Bottom line is what you pay determines what you get!

(purchassed
My opinion of old man emu springs and shocks is quite simple from (purchased and used) experience, they are WAY overpriced, but a reasonable product for a standard veh+ 50mm for carrying weight and driving on the road....offroad they do not flex well and stiff as, just a good replacement for std and some height/carry some weight...... but be prepared for a bumpy ride empty
