Post by tgaguy1 »

I need a toyota 2f engine (4.2 petrol) for a fj40. For a bush truck so any runner considered. May consider complete 3f.

I have a 2F kindly donated by rowinz which I'm rebuilding to replace mine - which runs OK, but is a heavy oil-burner. Probably just valves, but I won't know till I pull the head - & I won't do that till the donor is ready. If you can wait a couple of months, you can have the old one - but shipping to the NI would be a killer if you have to pay for it...

Bugger. A 3f would have gone well. Anyone else want to give one away?

Wopass does the 4.5 litre bolt straight in or are you going to make adaptors?

My dad has two 80 series one with that petrol motor and the other with the 24 valve diesel in it. The diesel has a heap more power and hauls up the hills, the petrol is thirsty and gutless. I think you would be better off putting a 350 Chev in it.
