I was talking to a group out there and they got caught in there and got told to leave or a 10k fine, People have been pulling fence posts out and driving over fences and going around blocks etc so im not surprised there stopping 4wds going into these places and handing out fines.
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

This is exactly why our access to most parts of the "Mak" have been stuffed and severly restricted, dumb asses wrecking the place with no regard to others at all.
If you are going to do something stupid and against common sense or ignore sings, fences and barriers, don't post it up here in a public forum. You make all of us look bad.
Go for a drive over to the North side and play in the designated area for off road use.
The rangers keep a regular eye on this site.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

You need educating, that's why I posted on here. My knickers are not twisted yet.
There has been many discussions on the recreational use of the "Mak" and the local clubs have fought long and hard with ECAN and others to retain a suitable place for us all to use.
I would hate to see it all closed down again due to the foolish behaviour of others who are ignorant of the situation.

That's me done, I'm signing out of this discussion.
All I wanted to do was offer some sensible advice.

agree with pete. its the idiots that are farking it for everyone else. it is a shame we have been kicked off the south side as there some nice tracks and some real deep ruts. hopefully we don't get kicked out of the north side.

a bit of education is a good thing as it will give you a understanding of the do's and don'ts and if the rules are followed then we all win by not getting kicked out and never being able to return.

no one is having a go at you, we just want you to understand how serious this can be and what effects this can have not only as a club but as a 4wd community. i would hate to loose access to mac as its so close and can prove to be a fun outing. We are simply asking you to be a responsible 4wder.

my problem with all this be a responsible 4wder so we dont get kicked out of every where thing is that the agenda of the powers that be have no intention to make any concessions to anybody in the bigger scheme of things so we all behave and dont rock the boat in the hope we will still have somewhere to play. mean while the legislation and laws just keep getting bulldozed thru without many noticing. then eventually they just close the gate and say there doing wat has always been there right. because of the actions of the people. we all go bummer and accept it. When do the people of this country stand up and say enough is enough and fight.
Is it not in Doc's original legislation to care and protect our reserves parks forest's so that its there for future generations and the enjoyment of everyone. doc interpretation lock it up so no one has access to anything. therefore the only people that get to enjoy it are doc etc once locked up we will never gain access again. I dont mean as 4wders I mean as the people. The public lands belong to the us not doc. Maybe we need to take a lesson from Libya and the like. an up rising of the people. any body notice the revising , erosion of privacy laws surveillance laws etc etc. did the people ask for that...
AH crap now im just raving and way of topic. sorry
Maybe a bit of anarchy wouldnt be such a bad thing

They've even started blocking the ashley off... Went down in my car last night, come round corner and there was a gate up...... slid straight into a post and knocked it over, Im happy that it didnt even mark my car, and also happy the gits have a fucked post to be quite honest. Not aloud to go down a river and 4wd, Only putting our selves at risk? maybe its time to sell our trucks, get cars and go hard on road? Sick of the spastics trying to run all this, they dont have a clue.

Na they recently fenced it like how the mac is, been like it for a few months, never had gate though, then suddenly last night there was a gate... Useless buggers who made the fences though, cant drive a post in for shit.

Have you guys jumped on the WAMS site and had a look at the maps to see if you have right of access??

I would bet you do.

If so, keep driving round the fence's and obstructions, they may well be illegal??

That's all well and good to say but when fwits that rip the firebanks to shreds are the people driving around the obstructions then in a way they are the lesser evil?

Don't want to roll over and take it in the ass like we seem to have to with everything else but there is not denying a lack of common sense seems to be messing up everything for everyone.

More of the Ashley is going to be blocked off more soon to ensure the safety of the nesting birds & also ensure there is no more damage done to the stop banks.
There is going to be work done on the 4wd track on the North Side. There is a massive area there to play in, use this area & we will keep our access screw it up & we will loose everything.
We must learn to share these great play areas .

Its pretty much the same for the Wiamak, stop banks getting ripped up, that wire that is everywhere is to hold the banks together and the birds nesting.

The Ranger asked us last weekend if we could aviod going down the river at waimak as the birds are nesting through to January.
