smoke from right rear wheel arch,damp fuel tank stone guard

and where wheel arch meets near chassis towards the rear.Just got home from work,short trip thankfully.Any ideas how I should go about investigating the source of leak.

what does the liquid smell like? petrol or water? it may be a exhaust leak and the condensation that comes out the exhaust my just be going on everything...happens on my suzuki cause the tip of the exhaust is not pointing out of the car its pointing at the bumper..... :oops:

Found the leak.The hit to the stone shield pushed against the fuel tank,and this caused one of the spot welds to a baffel to give way.Reweld,all good.
