My weekend started yesterday just before and also after work.

I got the master cylinders back, and put those in. That went OK.

I put the fluid reservoirs back in, and everything was sweet, no leaks.
But when I got home from work, there was a puddle underneath the front.

I had a look, and the clutch fluid reservoir was leaking, and it had run down the seam in the engine bay, all the way to the front. Just to strip off as much of the new shiny paint as possible :roll:

I traced the leak to a split in the reservoir, so replaced it (lucky I accidentally brought a bunch of spares down from Dad's :lol:

)

So I repainted it, and also the outside of the mud wheels while I was at it.
Today will be full of bleeding (the brakes and clutch, that is :lol:

)

Put some sealed beam headlights in the Prado bus.... Stops them filling with water :lol:

Just need to adjust them. :roll:

Finish off the hatch in floor to get to winch shear pin.
Welded up the spare PTO drive shaft...(while the kids and Missus are out)
Off tomorrow to break rocks at Maratoto working bee....

My Weekend Started Mid Week ,Did a job over at GT Barrier Island last week ,Took the van over and got it horribly stuck on the guys property,the house owner only had a Quad and that wasnt going to move it ,and he was in Auck with the keys anyway

local tow truck owner was over in Auck so no bloody help there" No cell ph coverage ,nearest sign of life about 4km.walk away,so by the time i found some one with a 4wd (landrover) and got towed out i missed the last ferry sailing and had to stay the night and rebook for later the following day ,really pi##ed of at myself for being such a muppet and driving over a muddy building site that i knew looked suspect .

Yes but in my defense it did have a Nissan diesel motor in it :lol:

Had a pretty quiet weekend so far, spent last night and this arvo doing some fab work for my truck :mrgreen:

only half way there so looking forward to how its all going to come out.

Got the Lada driving (at least forwards and backwards in my driveway :lol:

)

Clutch still doesn't feel right, but brake pressure is back (a bit, so still needs new discs & pads etc).

It's not running right though, way too rich, so need to figure out how to actually tune the thing now :lol:

brought new wheel bearings stripped hubs right down cleaned them all up, attached drive shaft, just need to get dust seals from isuzu and a pinion seal and assemble my front hubs during the week.

how much grease do i need to pack in the bearings? how much grease do i pack into the hubs?

yup north side still open don't know about south if you go in by bridge will only get just past motorbike tracks till you hit locked gate theres a back way to get into 4x4 area go down tram road then heywards road follow that till get to baynoms rd then that goes straight to 4x4 area.

I will be swapping out the steering box for another second hand one as the one that is in it does not handle very well, will post photo's on Sunday, I have done some prep work which will make things easier I hope.

This will be my first attempt at doing something myself.

Day 1 of the weekends work;
Fitted both rear recovery hooks permanently and properly,
Mounted spare wheel carrier inside hatch,
Wired and fitted EGT, boost and volt gauges.
Most productive.
Tomorrow still to come :mrgreen:

Well yesterday I started diagnosing the issues on my terrano. Reason I have no headlights is because both bulbs are blown(stoked) Started draining oils, got 8L out of the rear diff :lol:

could be why it was leaking out of the front seal. Obviously 6Lish was water, but it was the rankist mix I've ever seen. Also front diff, gearbox, and transfer had water in them.. Got gearbox half removed making way for a manual :twisted:

Built a stronger front axle housing for the Mutt. This one will take a real hammering and I built it using a proper jig for keeping on eye on the straightness.

Did a bit more work on my sons truck "Rustyzook". It's a SJ410 motor and chassis, sj413 diffs, Samurai cut down tub. Cut out all non
essential wireing, still needs a left gaurd ( anyone got one? ). Scored
some 8inch wheels for $100 just needs some muds, cage in and fuel
tank plumbed up and he will be away

Standard front diff and gearbox is up top of firewall, which i was hoping would be enough(obviously not) and rear one i extended halfway up the back door..

Spent the weekend sanding bogging prepping and painting my mates l300 van. Started 4pm Friday and finished at 430pm today. First and last time I'll be doing so much in one weekend....

Just about to head off to Eden park to hopefully watch the all blacks get into the final....

Starting to get serious mud withdrawals now...

mmm ive seen that green paint before seems to make its way onto every zuke around there. truck is looking great what you doing for a cage? ive got a bender here you can use if you want its one of those cheap chinese ones with the correct former (no crushing) or have you already got a cage?

Just finished hooking up the second battery into the Hilux .Ready for the winch to bolt on.Bought a pack for the big hunting trip coming up.Slowly getting all the gear together . I thought owning two 4x4s was expensive. :lol:

during the week got the WOF sorted...... all road legal now!
finally found cause of the intermittent oil leak. custom made a fatter oring for the oil filter adapter as a temp fix.
test run Saturday, lost power steering. only a loose belt and managed to fix it in the carpark.
went down south today for a major test run (and pick up more goodies).
6 hours driving and nothing broke, leaked or fell off!
fuel economy is good and no oil in the breather line. a few weird noises to go check out and clutch needs tweaking but otherwise all good, ready for lift and lockers.

Hey Mate, good result at MWC

,He has a cage but it needs work so may need the bender.The paints out of a can from Bunnings (very close match tho :lol:
