"jerry even only knows me as "whatshisname"......."
Its the old age settin in, dementia etc, next I'll probably have a big bald patch and tell you that we never had fancy schmancy 4wd's back in my day and never had roofs or heaters or radios in our landrovers (or seats)
PS If you drove a landrover I proably woud have called you whats his face or something ruder

WRONG
Its the responsibility of all the old dead wood white haired old men that administer clubs to keep their eyes out for keen young guys to come into their clubs to teach them the ropes and introduce new blood to eventurely take over the administration and repeat the cycle.... not scare them away!
yes i agree but i kinda didnt get that vibe from phill....my great uncle was a founder/major share owner of rallywoods hes the man but hes not really into 4x4ing anymore
Sometimes no has to be the answer but you'd think they may be more encouraging and maybe offer you some sort of involvement to keep you keen and as a possible prospective member? Marshaling, cleaning trucks, co-driver, collecting gate fees.... anything like that?

....well maybe not cleaning trucks?
yes once again i have to agree with you...i dont mind cleaning trucks its actually kind of fun...mind you who knows he could of had a million and 1 things on his mind and this wasn't a priorty so he just cut me loose, who knows???.....
hey mroffroader they might be not letting you enter because isn't this a public event, so they might have tougher rules/regulations compared to an interclub event

Its been advertised as a fun event for all?
Hello
When I said open to all, I was thinking all those that are in 4wd clubs. I've heard that Offroad Express is about to become an affliated club of the NZ 4wd Association....so probably jumped the gun with the invite!
I'd say the 'member of a club' requirement will have a lot to do with the insurance that is provided by the association when you are a member, plus Valley would want people to hold a NZ drivers licence as well.
Can't comment to much though as I'm in Windy City (a much better club - we drink more bourbon than them!)....I was just adversting the event.
Looking forward to seeing those pics Mike. Ive got a few to chuck up when the albums are working again
I had a great day confirmed my theory that safaris arent any good for trialing. Did a bit of damage, Broke a windscreen, snorkel head, dented both sides and folded the gutter down sepreating the roof seam in some places but it was worth it.
