Diff pinion??

My D21 developed quite a loud whine when it got above 50kph and when I went to drop out the rear drive shaft I noticed the pinion shaft was very loose. The nut is still on tight...

Am I better to try and fix the bearings and what ever else could be stuffed or just buy a second hand diff head once it gets too bad to drive?

If your bearings are sloppy, your crown wheel and pinion are not correctly meshed and wearing excessivly. Another diff head asap imho
