Ln106 lifting

Hey guys, looking at getting a ln106 lux, basically because solid axle trucks are alot stronger! and flex. In the future I will be wanting to get 35's under it, Body lift isnt a problem, but I've never done any lifting with leaf's. Can you just use extended shackles for a decent effective lift? say 2-3"? also what else would need modifying for that kind of lift? cheers

ive just dne extended shackles and reset rear leafs and mzxtrax front leavs, and new ranchos all round , i have about a 4- 5 inch lift just in the suspension now with 32's, with a body lift itd get 35's flexn really well,

Watch your caster angle when using longer shackles in the front Go too long and it'll be a dog on the road.

ive noticed when sideways on the road "on accident ofcourse" its almost , how do u say it, mutual steering, as if it doesnt have enough caster to counter steer for itself but not so little caster that it makes u have to fight the steering wheel to counter steer. i will probably buy sum caster wedges in the future, also one other thign to look out for is the drag link from the steering box to the drivers side steering arm interferring on the rear u bolt,. a flat one from 4wdbits.co.nz fixed it for me

best way to counteract castor problems is to do your lift by extending the shackels and dropping the front spring mounts by the same amount this gives more lift and keeps castor the same
i.e extend shackels 50mm....drop front mounts 50mm

if you plan on running 35's dont #### around, put ya rears up front for the lift and to push the axle foward and lift the rear. only problem is you'll have to chop some things and stick them back together or run cross over steering/high steer.

The amount of us that have spend good cash on lifted front springs to just have your tyres eat shit on the back of the front gaurds all the time and ended up chucking out the lifted "antiflex" springs and going rears up front is crazy.

Yeah seen about putting rears up front to move diff forward, is that a simple bolt in job?

Yip and then you have to fab up some mounts to bolt an IFS Surf steering box to your chassis. However if your standard push/pull steering box is in good order then you should get reasonable coin for it
