So needing a 4dr mud wagon for the kids I got rid of the GQ and picked this up:
Probably going to stay much the way it is to keep it simple. Got a bit of a panel and paint planed, and came with a winch but no bullbar. So today Mr. Grinder and Mr. Welder came out for a bit of a play and so far ended up with this: Just need to come up with a plan to add a mount for the fairlead, and give it clean up and paint and should be good to go.

mike77: damn forgot to take a pic of it before i painted it and bolted it up. Its really just whacked up from some junk I had laying in the garage. Bit of 1.5"x1.5"x4mm angle iron and 10mm flat bar (which is not fun to drill 13mm holes in ) Basically 2 angle iron brackets bent into a right angle triangle kindof shape, the back of which bolts to the 4 bolts the original bumper attaches too. A straight piece welded to the bottoms at an angle which goes underneath and attaches to the back 2 bullbar bolt holes in the chassis rails. And some flat bar welded to the top for the winch to sit on. If you can kindof picture that without me drawing a diagram. Probably needs some other form of brace between the 2 sides will see how it goes. I think drivers side bumper iron will need a bit of gentle adjustment with a hammer to allow the winch motor to fit in but other than that looks like it will work well, nice and high up and doesnt stick out too far.
haynzy: were you up these ways?

swb lux with 7mge, trailgear crossover, trailgear rear lift kit, custom front bar, runva 1200lb winch, custom snorkel, 37" Mtrs, custom deck, lockright in the rear.
Hey dude winch bar looks good, im in the middle of making my own one from scrap too just curious as to what your winch plate dimensions or winch dimensions are if you have them?
Pretty much jammed in tight fit between the 2 bumper irons, had to use a hammer to persuade the drivers side one to allow the bigger motor side to fit in without mounting the winch slightly off center. Other than that, was pretty much an 'eye it up, cut, weld' jobbie didnt really measure much sorry. Its not too hard once you get the main end pieces made up and bolted on to work from there. Don't know if IFS models will have the same bolt holes in the front crossmember tho

Hey mate, I see your truck all the time outside the mill... Do u work near there or do you regularly need alcohol? Hahaha. Nah truck looks good and winch mounts great, nice and simple just gotta go try it out!
Haha yeah mate work at the fresh market. Picked up a bullbar the other day from the back of a farm shed, mounts have been run over by tractor and it needs a good scrub up but rest is straight so think it can be made usuable again. Yup hoping to get out in a couple of weeks for a blast up manawahe somewhere
