IFS 1999 hilux noise

is the creaking noise normal in the ifs suspension? when i approach a hill on an angle (not straight on) the ifs creaks a little bit. just wondering if this is normal or what can be done to stop it. Feel a little uneasy 4wdriving when i dont know what the sound is as i only recently bought the truck

Steering straight ahead?
Metallic sounding or more like rubbery/plastic creaking?
Defo coming from the front?

Could be sway-bar bushes or end-links. Not much to worry about.
Could be ball joints, which is more concerning, but you'd hear it on regular bumps.
Could be a-arm bushes, but again, most likely hear it on regular bumps.
Could be steering limit stops? Would probably only make noise when the wheel is hard over.

A-arm bushes and ball joints would get picked up in a warrant, so if you got a warrant recently, should be safe.

Try some grease on your steering stoppers, Always creaked in Navaras/Terranos Ive owned.Worth a shot.

cheers for that. its definitly from the front and not when i go straight on. got a warrent last friday so probly nothing major. ill try the grease on the stoppers and see what happens tommorow. if youve got any other ideas of what it could be that would be great. cheers

my 02 gets chassie noise , and so does old mans 2002 and navara, wont be anything huge

so nothing to worry about when 4wdriving then? nothing major is going to fly to pieces in the front?
