Fark your cert experience is pretty different to mine although I only had an engine transplant certified, I rang the guy I used down here and he said I could bring the truck around the next day if I liked so I drove over there the next day, he lifted the bonnet and spent about 15-20 seconds looking at shit and dropped the bonnet again and said the cert plate will take about 2 weeks to arrive, 2 weeks later he popped around and stuck the plate on

well trucks been on the road year and a half, done a handful of trips and oscars really happy with the rear end flex, and man does it flex, got it on some awesome angles and she's stable as

now though 90% of parts have been collected and she's going under the grinder again.3.8vr commodore and sas with widened hilux axle to match rear end width along with pushing it forward.body lift will be reduced to minimum required to fit,few deck mods as current set up wasn't as user friendly as hoped.winch and front bar and full exo cage

with any luck all will be completed by early october

pics to come

Oh i was hoping you were going to SAS with origanal passenger side transfer case.. I want to do it to my terrano, just no diffs around that use passenger side transfer.

Very nice navara tho! how did the front end hold up with the weak IFS?

yeah yeah, got to do some work before pics go up  ,and yes, that's the problem with the LHS output.could be done with a chop and flip of a front diff but a lot of work, that's why were doing it this way,and parts easily available.and as for front ifs no worries to date.never blown anything.but truck isn't pushed to hard usually and only has standard motor so yeah.probably wouldn't hold up to the commodore

well made some good progress for the week.all ifs crap removed and in the bin, main bits of the ifs brackets removed so we could start eyeing things up (unforunately i cant grind all hours of the night in suburbia  )

then got into it sat night with the boys, rolled the front end under and she's looking good.with it all sitting at ride height the vehicle should now sit almost completely flat as instead to nose down and the approach angle is looking really good, all pics in post above

also looking like we'll be able to remove almost all of the body lift which is really going to help with the height thing

few more pics added in page 5,you can see in the photos how much hook the chassis has at the front so x member we had just wasn't right and would have meant losing spring radius length,so I fabd up a new x member which you can see sits flat with front of truck and gains us 40mm of spring radius length which were happy with.oscars removed everything engine related from motor,he's also picked up a new air tank each for his truck and mine, bottom photos is how it sits now on all 35s.height of truck body is at 1950 and that like I say should be coming down to 1860 after body lift is removed

oh and dont look at the weld in the centre of the x member, bloody wind  .i was in overalls gloves and helmet and didnt relise the wind behind me had oicked up,after 5 mins of thinking my welder was playing up i took of mask and gloves and what would ya know, its bloddy blowing a gail  ,so that needs grinding off and redoing

well been almost a month, been a bit slack and actually doing hours at my job instead of on the truck

photos added on page 5 of new rear mounts and shackles for the front springs, planning to zap them in this weekend so that'l have her on all four again.

also picked up the new flywheel which we tracked down through bnt,$680 but still cheaper than going to aus and far these middlemen so oscars happy, only thing now is ive got to work out weather we need to run the counter weight or not and buy some new bolts to put her on with along with collecting clutch next week

gearbox xmember is in and holding up the box but needs 2x inside chassis brackets added and then 4x holes drilled, front edge ive got to fold up and a slightly bigger scallop for the oil drain plug and she'l be sorted

steering we've decided to just rip of the nissan and use a surf box so we don't need a custom steering arm to go nissan to toyota, again this will hopefully go in this weekend and so all steering will be functional again

motor position is also looking good and shouldn't affect travel at all and will sit nice and low

You'll end up with a Narvara like ours. Only Narvara bits left are the chassis rails and cab

Nice work tho fella. These things tend to fight all the way

and cheers mate,it is coming along nicely at the mo,with any luck motor will also be running by next weekend which were both really looking forward to,that'l give us the extra motivation to really get the job done.not to mention were hoping to have his and mine back on the road before xmas for a decent trip away

supose i should update  ,been a bit slow, motor and box still out, just got tidy up a couple of things with clutch then she'll go back in,old trays been removed and im currently fabbing up a new version, that'l be on by end of the week(got a week off work so time to do some work),back end has had 50mm lift blocks aded to help it match up with the tall front end.we've been taking our time looking at getting motor and box in best place but looks like motors just too far forward so looking to do dual transfer case to push things back, that should give us alot better angle in the front drive shaft, possibly save us putting a 2piece in the rear and it'll make it easyer to crawl around the car parks looking for a spot   ,will get pics up on page 5 asap,oh and also fabed up new rear shock xmember to get the shocks at a better angle, dive tank purchased and just getting ready to mount to new deck

oh and also just getting drawing sorted then roll bar can be bent up and also rear mounts of front springs are g clamped in and just waiting to be welded in now we've got their position sorted

ok finally made more progress and got some final measurements worked out.truck now has no body lift at all thanks to sas and good approach angle.rear shock tower is made and just sitting on the truck ready to be welded in when i get a chance.eng height is set and have just finished making eng side of eng mounts.shes definatly getting dual transfer cases which im picking up the adaptor for later on this week.and as said almost all measurements are now worked out so its just a matter of building the thing now,all going well shes ready for xmas (THIS YEAR!)

cheers for the comments guys, yeah flick me a text when your free Chris, your welcome any time and na mate, your works nothing to be ashamed of mate,i mite make things look good with big fab jobs but look at any panel work ive done and you can see my work to be ashamed of..everyones got there strong points.and no deck and chassis will stay as they are, never had problems getting caught on chassis and deck is behind the departure angle so will be very hard to make contact with.and also bang on nibz,we wanted at least some usable deck  ,were not quite there yet but were going to look down the path of putting the spare wheel on a pivot bracket so it can be stood up when there's extra gear and the dive tank may end up along the front of the gear box yet,not quite there as I say
