rebuilt some early GU twin pot calipers for the front of the GQ, seem to have fitted without too many dramas, i trial fitted them first behind the 15'' rims and i didnt expect them to fit but they do.. havent been out for a run yet, going out in a while and will update.

been for a good run, excellent even with the 35'' simexes. so much shorter stopping distances, thought i had better do something as it was the only thing that gets mentioned at wof time, normally just scrape through.

had the brakes in the shed for around a year but didnt think gu brakes fitted behind 15'' rims, they are 310mm rotors as opposed to 300mm and off a early 97 gu.....

did recovery for teh Daybreaker rally, had 1 x roll over, many broken down cars and 1 car way way way down a bank... Red Driver was recovering that, hope he is home by now





also discovered how easy it is to cook the front brakes on a TJ!!

the standard brakes were really good with normal tyres, but the 35s made them work too hard.

mine was on the 33's when it went though, with the 31 inch road tyres there is a noticeable difference in braking

Spent Sat night bumbling around Woodhill looking for letters to make a word up.
Had a great time in the dark....Its suprising how different it is in the dark....
The bumps sneak up on you and whats with the moving trees
However lost handbrake during the night and found out today when I pulled it down that the lining on one set had fallen off...
Threw it all back together but no handbrake sort off....and went out and helped Caleb with his Surf on the farm...
Need to pay a visit to my brake man on Monday and get some new shoes...

Not me Coxsy, We were in after the punters had all gone home (Sat night).
Haven't hit a tree for a wee while....
I use the tree scars to determine how tight or how fast / slow to take a corner.
As most have been done by dropping too fast into a hole and bouncing up into the tree.....
And driving a LWB you tend to notice these things.

Fitted new shocks front brake pads and front and rear swaybar bushes to my inlaws surf today two weeks after their useless lazy bastard son did a warrent on it and is in desperate need of a wheel alignment but thats tomorows job.
The shocks were completely f'd and mayaswell of not been there two of the pads were rubbing on steel and bushes completely slogged out how he has a job i will never know

a weekend off 4wheeling for me started off with a night run on Saturday came across stranded range rover so gave him a tow out to road not easy with a Suzuki then went down mak today ran into 2 great guys in red lux got muddy inside and out stuck once overall good day out

only hit a stump doing a u turn for another sand hill climb and buried both diffs in sand diffed out, short winch all clear, me mate dug the hump down then drove it, see no problem to a challenger bugger

Replaced LSD rear diff oil in my 93 Terrano. Now it drives off the jack at idle speed, whereas before just spun the lifted wheel and would have been stuck . Tried Castrol lsx90, didn't even use the expensive stuff (may have a shorter life).

Made a soft roof for a mates trials truck, should get off my arse and do one for mine sometime too...

Managed to get the hose out and clean half of Thompsons and Maratoto tracks out from under the Terranosaurus. Surveyed the scares from the rocks
Sills are farked already A shed load of bog fell out and the only welded cross-member is rather twisted.....bugger
T2 is taking on the appearance of T1 at an alarming rate.
Oh well, might take Monstr's advice and chop the sills, weld in some flat plate and be done with it.
Have a few tie rods to replace too (no surprise)

Yip got home just after 9.30 rally car was only 500meters down the bank just drive down to him differant story going uphill
