Funny thing happened on the way home from work yesterday: snapped two engine belts, namely the waterpump and alternator belt. I've put me old spare one's on, but want to know if anyone knows of any good deals on belts in ChCh.

I generally use Appco auto parts on Battersea Street Sydenham, I do have a contact there but don’t want to hound him with everyone looking for ultra cheap deals, they generally deal mostly with the trade guys so I'm sure if you ask for a good cash deal they will look at it.
Best idea is to have a bit of a look at a couple of places, some suppliers are cheaper on some items than others (strange setup but one may have cheaper wheel bearings for one model but really expensive cv's and vice versa).
BNT is also worth a go and there is a specialist belt place on annex road as well, have to go past on the way to work so will check the name of it as I cant remember and will post when I get to work.
Hope this helps.

Had a look on the way in to work, has Dayco on the front of the building, unit1 250 Annex road Christchurch, but upon looking in the phone book at work that is not the listed company name, also SMP bearings is worth a go, both as per APPCO normally service the trade.

Hey Al, had my alternator belt go twice on me now, strange. I got mine from parts shop (behind mobil service stn) in Stanmore road and only cost me around $13.00 each from memory. Dunno if this was good or not, but I thought it was.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

Don't find Butlers all that good, bought a CV off them a few months back, broke it that weekend, they said too bad. Last time I tried to get belts from them, they sold me the wrong size and argued with me that what they sold fitted a terrano. Bullshit. Thank for the other info, will do some ringing around later today.
