wtb: 80 series rear springs

Post by mfrsr »

as per title. proving to be hard to find at wreckers. shocks would be useful too, don't really have a lot to spend on this.

doing a spring lift for the rear of my surf.

also for what it's worth, Just Commercials in napier are a useless bunch of ****s. not recommended at all. used to be good, but the last few times i've tried using them, i've had to chase them up, they don't return calls, they don't listen to what part you're after, and they've ****ing expensive - the markup on their stock is just plain stupid..

Cheers

what sort of price did they quote ya mate ??

i managed to track down a wrecker in auckland who had quite a bit of stock in the 80 rear springs, i managed to pick up a set of rears for $80.

Got them home and then measured them up against a standard surf spring and were 5" taller :O so not 100% sure if they were 80's standards or lifted :S

They were a bit to big for my truck but in saying that i dont have F**k all weight in the rear !!

PM me if ur keen for there contact details as im sure they will courier for ya if it works out cheaper than what u were quoted :D

should be cheap as...I got given an couple of pairs a few years back, I gave a pair away last weekend, They are surplus after an 80 series lift :? .
I wouldn't spend a lot and to fit them up takes an hour or 2...... brake line needs to be disconnected and top links, they just squeeze in with a bit of effort and although they appear 5 inches taller they only give 3 inch lift once weight is applied
I hate signatures

yeh i chucked the above mentioned 5"+ springs into my truck which obviosly has more weight as its almost all there and it sits pretty much where it did with 2"lifted ome springs and 2" coil spacers so im thinking theyre standard,in saying that i did forget the start measurement so dont know for sure lol

oh and the 80 series were 5" longer than a 2" lifted surf spring.not a standard spring and looking at coulour probably a dobyson sor hatever that brand is lol

not exactly what i had in mind. At least there's no problems with rear clearance anymore.

i think they're 80 series front coils, smaller diameter, 6 inches taller than the old rears and now its rock-hard. flexes happily enough. Could only wind 3 inches out of the torsion bars.
