lsd interchangeability
hi guys,have searched net and here but haven't got any where.does anybody know if a 2 pinion toyota lsd carrier can be fitted into the stronger 4 pinion housing?as ive got both but want them combined for my solid front end im putting together.yes selectable would be nice but cant afford and this is using what ive got,have ability to rebuild so be doing it all myself.have decided to pull diffs apat and compare now i cant find any info but if someone knew the answer you could save me some time

Just been through this myself, had a 4 pinion housing and was going to use my 2 pinion carrier and lockright. Apparently you can get bearings to convert the carrier from 45mm to the 50mm used in the 4 pinion, I went the other way and got a 4 pinion lockright and a 2 pinion diff to put my 2 pinion lockright into,as a spare.
If you take both bearings into a good bearing shop they may be able to match something up.

I had a 4 pinion diff, and got a 2 pinion lockrite, took it to a diff guy and he made it work, so can be done.
Rebuilt the whole diff while he was there so that prolly helped.
