Went out to hampton downs with sibainmud, lincooln, drurban, hiluxdan and luke (sorry dont know your ore name  ) met up with Gary, had a chat about mudfest and went and tested out the place.

Its shaping up to be a decent event, looking forward to it.

Didnt get any photos as my cam spat the dummy.

Lifting it shouldn't affect pinion seals

Has it got diff breathers fitted?

They will be the issue more.... I had a 4inch lift never blew a seal in 50000km

Went to Waimac and watched the marthon jet boats racing.

This one had a Gas turbine engine approx 1300-1500hp,easy the fasted boat there by 15-20mph(reported it could do 130mph)super reliable and well go 100% all day, boat handled very well also.
He did get beaten on the up stream leg though by a 572ci big block(took a few more risks at a guess but didnt finish the down stream leg)

As much as I hate to say it,pretty hard for a combustion engine to keep up on shear performance/reliability(really only has 1 moving part)

Was a great day

Two V8's from the B class(?)the second boat did end up passing and put a good gap on first one.

So while I was at the mudfest trial day yesterday, on my way out I hit something in the grass that almost stopped the zuk in its tracks. Thought it must have been a bit of dirt or concrete or something. Then had a look under it today while I was removing the sway bar properly and found the mangled mess of a cross member. On closer inspection the two skins are separating, it has bent into the A arm and is cracking the welds at the chassis too. Had to hit in the same place as it was once repaired before as it ha cracked along the same weld. Bloody tree stumps.

Also put a new steering wheel on as I almost broke my last one.

But now need to see if I can fix the x-member or if it will be cheaper and easier to get a new chassis or just turn it into a trailer truck. mhmm...

it's got a big silly lift. std suspension arms, driveshaft angle is pretty bad. It was leaking before i lifted it, and there's plenty of play in the pinion so not surprised. At least it looks the part

Shot down to woodhill on Saturday but not for off roading, I had to pick up another bighorn off Roger so now I have a parts car which will be pulled apart over the next few weeks so I can do some work on my one. $150 in petrol for the round trip behind my petrol bighorn  He said it hadn't been started for over a year and I put a battery in and dropped some oil into it just to lube it up a bit and started first attempt with plenty of smoke but once that cleared I took it off the trailer and went for a drive (drives pretty well as well) but as its de-regd I will strip it down.

Also went to the Santa Parade in Aucks on Sunday arvo, daughter loved it so that was well worth it
