Im more of a car man myself so someone might be able to offer some idea. My friend has a 1994 SWB Pajero, it has adjustable FRONTS but the rears are normal springs etc. He wants to drop the hight and stiffen it up a bit and I was wondering if getting the rear sprins compressed is an option??
1st WHY would he want it lowerd ? think you would have to get a shorter shock giving u both lower riding height and stifness so i dont think compressing it would work, best option is to have a word with a macanic, if not go to \"mag & tyer warehouse and get a Free king springs lowering kit when you buy any tyre and mag combo! \" lol
He doesn\'t want to lower it as such but even with the fronts fully adjusted the back is higher than the front & I think he wants to make it even....same height front & back.
The easiest way would be to \'wind up\' the front torsion bars to get it to sit level!!!
Basically to lower the back you\'d need shorter springs which would mean a firmer spring and hard ride to keep off the bumpstops which are already close enough!
My 94 SWB has somehow fitted non-standrd shocks and I think it was lowerd a bit. I do not like trhis setting and want to back to nomal or may be slight lift.
What is the length of rear spring on un-loaded condition?

Hope this helps, regards, Glen
Even with the fronts fully wound up it still doesn\'t sit even. I would have though a slight compression of the rear springs would suffice??.....not full on lowered like aftermarket springs.

Why?? I can\'t see it being any different to putting in aftermarket lowering springs. To be honest his Pajero is used MAINLY for everyday road use...only ventures off road once in a blue moon. Found a place in Naenae that will drop it 50mm for $80
