Is this engine been transplanted into a landrover?
What country are you from?
It looks to be out of a nissan caravan or homy, as the inlet manifold curves down and backwards. Usually they are straight up, with a flange on turbo and pipe for non-turbo variants. Also the breather for tappet cover is in centre rather than rear of tappet cover.
Whats the radiator cap looking thing on tappet cover? I've never seen that before?
Is it definately a td27? The qd32 is very similar in appearance.
The late model ones (td27, and all qd32) have a vacuum pump run off timing gears rather than on back of alternator.
Ryco brand oil filter number is z416, but thats quite possibly same as yours cross-referenced.
Hope this helps you in right direction,
Nathan

Thanks that will help.I'm going to run it in Trinidad, and yes plans are to put it in a L/Rover-- already seem that the bulkhead will need altering to accommodate turbo, which is towards the right behind the alternator. That radiator looking thing was connected to a air/water intercooler at the back of the engine. Can you guess the year? It seem to start without electronics, though there are sensors everywhere. One can be seen coming off the intake manifold which look similar to an O2 sensor, and one is at the back of the drive gear for the pump. Judging from the threads on the f0rum seem that I will have some work, I see oil driping from the back of the turbo.
