03-04 Dec

Post by lincooln »

Well a little early but not much.

Played round with my brothers lada, it will not be going for mudfest. one of the brushes on the alt has completely eroded away by shorting out by the looks, and the wiring to the alt is so patchy and hori its not funny. Louis will be driving my Suzuki on Sunday instead.

And then I managed to secure a SWB Vitara chassis for $75. complete with a complete front end minus diff, EFI petrol tank and fuel pump and a few other bits. Perfect start for a rebuild of my zuk. Picking up tomorrow. :D

This weekend wil be a day playing electrician..
Moving my radios around to make room for a boost gauge...
I don't like adding things on the dash....Hard to see thru window and I am short enough as it is...
I am gunna replace the radio/cd player with a radio/usb/md card player, half the depth and cd's dont like offroad play.....
Its going in my roof console.
This frees the center console (double din) for the boost gauge and any other crap I might add later...
The UHF radio is going below center console...
Will post pics later when its done..
Also replacing fixed UHF antenna on bull bar (eye hazzard for winch man) and use a magnetic base... On roof for open country play, center rear of bonnet for rough country.
As well as do some more work on rear stowage....

I feel sorry for you, electrics are horrible!

I'm going to attempt to get the Lada stopping better, then send it off to an auto electrician to fix the hugely bodged-up alternator wiring

went up to kaitaia after to finish a job, then took the opertunity to do a bit of exploring, no one else could make it so i went on my own, isnt the best but was still good fun.
i had never been rite around the coast from shippies to herikino,
came accros a awsome play area that would be mint in the wet

Well, got the radio installed and working, templates made for UHF install.
Ran all the wires for UHF and tidied up the old ones.
Now its raining and truck is outside.... Time for some indoors stuff, fitted the new bluetooth radios to my new helmets and tested them around the house. My up and coming winch man had some fun.

Yes the views are amazing Certainly hope you are not thinking of destroying that grassed area at the top of the hill, or those tracks. Plenty of sandbowls to play in around there

Mint looking tracks Mike once im finished with this diesel bighorn we can head out as I will have extra $$ for gas haha. Then we can make a weekend of hitting the tracks up there especially before the next one is born.

I spent my weekend at the Summer Show on Saturday with the whanau went on some rides, watched some 4wd's play around and unfortunately saw 1 roll and lucky they were all good. I even went for a ride in this cool looking SJ 8) :) cheers for that Al I was very impressed. If sunday had better weather I would have come over and got that power drill to borrow, might be something for this weekend.

Saturday arvo took the front off this bighorn and a few other bits and pieces.

I got the all clear from the wife to get my daughter a quad bike so I dropped the line of if she gets one then I get one :) so looking for a little 50cc one for the daughter and a 450+cc raptor for me 8)
