Newbie with a Nissan S.W.B

Post by PabloAU »

OK - took the plunge, just like Hutzpah, doing the reverse migration back to NZ.

We bought this in Trademe after lurking here on the forums for the last 14mths,doing the research and loitering with intent......

So here she is - bought off the guy who I have to thank for his honesty & help in doing the deal.

Looking forward to it as I had the exact same truck in West Africa for 2 1/2 yrs and could not kill it, even with shitty diesel and "bush" mechanics (god bless ex-pat spanner benders!).....

So pick it up early in the New Year (Jan 2012) so will be back as a regular here.

Been a blast reading the various stories and really appreciated the tech postings

nice truck , nz tracks require protection for body panels, mine carries scar's of its time in the bush, rock sliders, front bullbar, bushbars and something to protect the rear quaters and tail lights , had to upgrate steering components, and rear track arms.
how high do you want to lift it and tyres choise ?

Highway assault vehicle and able to get round the farm initially Coxy - Serious 4x4 time comes after building the house and all the "honey Do" list - you know the stuff.

On tires, what would you put on if you were doing highway & rural farm (undulating - no challenges)? Been away from NZ for 14yrs so have no Idea what the choices are for these vehicles. Got spoiled with Cooper / B.F.Goodrich here in Aus
