Was at NAC today and saw the list of cars stolen in CHCH insured through them and beleave me its a big list This was one of the ones on that list. Basically in CHCH the top stolen cars at the moment are: Skylines, Stagea's and Silvia's (Standard or modified).
3 silvias have been stolen this week in chch including 2 today. choose wisely where you park your cars and trucks whatever it is. also make sure your insurance is up to date!!!!
Toby at Jap Diesel in Falsgrave St (next to me) had his Silvia pinched today - maroon with silver 17's on it. Cheeky pricks stole it right out from under his nose - unreal

same thing happen to a mate on sunday - was at speights ale house tower junction having a beer. next thing watching his bloody car been driven off. least than 24hours latter it was found by police in linwood. all the was left was a stripped shell

Yeah poor bugger , was insured but he has nana'ed that car all its life - I was supposed to be putting an exhaust on it this afternoon - was gone by 11am
There must be one group of people doing it - seems pretty focused to me
well your mates car that got pinched is just around the corner from my work and from now on i parking my silvia in the work carpark - which i not aloud to do my i dont care anymore

I would be looking for a new kind of car / or having a serious GPS alarm fitted to it mate, shame these bastards exist but they wont stop with the wet bus tickets they get slapped with when the rewards are so great 8(

I heard through the vine that there was a car found today down there and they also found 2 others at the same place so give the police a call to see if it was anyone elses. It suxs that all these cars are taken I remember my old RS4 Stagea nearly got nicked a few years back now though and it was from outside our kitchen window, all I can say is thank goodnes I had a dog haha she kept barking at the front door and as I was by the back door I just opened that and she chased him accross the section and as he went to jump the fence he slipped and hit the fence, the dog got his jacket and he took it off just to get away but it had his cell phone in it so he was caught pretty quickly.

I hear through a mate working for a insurance company that they are looking at not insuring anymore race spec or modified cars in chch cause of the amount being stolen..... word say but i wouldnt be surprised.
not really, cops dont give a shit if ya car gets stolen. they just say we will keep a look out. there is a ring of people operating from somewhere in the eastern suburbs in a warehouse. these guys are pros at disabling alarms etc. if you do get a new alarm installed, do not get the flashing hooked up to the indicators but to the parklight circuit
have heard that they remove indicator lenses,whip bulb out stick something metal in and it shorts out alarm. where as parklights can be harder to get into and they wouldnt expect it to be parklights. just what i have heard and been told.

That trick is ancient... any alarm worth a damn now has a fuse on the flasher circuit. Besides, the flashing is a waste of time, what you want is a warehouse-sized 12v siren under the car on a relay plus a bunch of screamers in the cabin. A strobe under the dash only ever hurt the eyes of someone sticking their head in there too.
i had my rs4 stagea stolen only to find a burnt out car at the wiamake after they were spooked by locals.nothing taken except my tools bikes car gear but the drove it there and set fire to it wtf seriusly had melted mags and intake diff cover etc all gone for nothing cops didnt want to no about it then after i dropped the subframe to strip them for scrap the shell got stolen ,cant trust anything anymore
