Rear suspention in VDJ76 .....help??
Rear suspention in VDJ76 .....help??
Couple weeks ago me and my dad bought a new work truck a VDJ76 but after taking it for its first test tow, it sags real bad and gets its sways on at about 70km/h. The trailor is set up correctly as we tow it with our 200series all the time.
first off i wana fix the sag, whats the best way to do this? Loadhogs? air shocks?
suggestions on making this thing tow good!
i cant seem to upload a pic no matter how small i make it keeps coming up with "Your images may only be up to 801 pixels wide."
so heres the link http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos- ... 0201_n.jpg

i rate my loadhogs as a cheap fix
Dont follow me. i'll get stuck and need a tow..
Re: Rear suspention in VDJ76 .....help??
Over here heaps of people seem to have air bags in the rear. Mostly in the utes but that could just be that they are easier to see. Your trailer is a lot lower than the truck though so maybe look at a dropped tongue for the towbar

in that photo it looks as if the trailer is loaded heavy on drawbar. A set of loadhogs and a drop arm tow bar should sort it out but if the trailer is loaded front heavy the truck will still squirm on the tires.
We had same prob with one of the work vans. Put different tires on it and problem went away so maybe try the wheels off the 200 and see if makes a difference.

Re: Rear suspention in VDJ76 .....help??
Hug_o, what does mr plod say about your set up?, general container 2300kg, trailer 2000kg??, weight of tow vehicle 2200kg = 6500kg
. Do you have to have HT licence?, what weight do you have on your RUC licence?, what does Mr Toyota say? , do you need a COF or do you get away with a WOF for Landcruiser and Trailer, is that a single safety chain I see in photo?, lots of questions
, but to me it looks like ------- THE TAIL WAGGING THE DOG, FITZY.
