I have pm'd dieselboy to find out what pipe he used, because I have been to SCA and Repco and tried to make out 1 from their parts but just can not quite do it.....on his link/thread he had a nice setup which I would be keen on replicating....

Hey, me being the cheap ass I am, I just cut and sleeved the standard hose to get it to work.

It was just the standard 3.5 EFI top hose.

From memory I cut it along one of the straight sections, and then swapped the two sections around a bit. It was a tight fit and it still touched the dizzy cap a little. It was one of those "want it done now" jobs

Supercheap is the best place to go for hose matching, you can pick through their racks of hoses at your leasure

Was just looking at this web site and saw the radiator hose kits here and was thinking that one of these might work or be able to be altered to fit?

Just been looking at a Stage 1 V8 motor in a friends truck and noticed the different top radiator hose they run, it looked like it might work.

I need to have a better look at my truck and compare things, I've been making up new 70mm motor winch cables for my truck and have just fitted a TG Thompson Solenoid which I hard wired in with a dash switch and our plug in wireless remote and fitted it under the bonnet.

It took longer than I thought it would, the time was in getting the cables to sit right before crimping the lugs in place and doing all the colour coded heat shrink

I'm pretty happy with the final result and look forward totesting it on our drive and timimg it to see if it has made any difference over the standard cables

How did the looksee go with the radiator hose, any progress? Thought about getting a couple from island4x4 over in the UK and adjusting to suit, can get them on my doorstep for cheaper than getting a couple from SCA.

My news though......look at what came in the post this morning, sooooo happy I can get ready to completely fire it up, the plug and hose are all that is needed and I have been patiently waiting over a month for the plug to arrive.....YUSSSS

Howie did a conversion for my 110 works great but the carbon was a bit soft in the cheapo hei and started crossfiring so I replaced with an accel carbon and later bought in a new blue see through cap from jegs .It looks great at night and starts so easily especially with the 4barrel , all I need now is the LPG .
I moved my dizzy round so the plug is at the back
If you have a early radiator with the gooseneck top pipe supercheap have ford windsor thermostat housings for about $15 witch brings the hose straight out the front of the block and you just use a rangie hose for the straight out top radiator pipe like the discoes .

That sounds like the go, do you still use the V8 Rover thermostat? No extra gasket needed or anything like that? Another quick question, did the Windsor housing have a point for the temp sender?

Well I took lokrites advice and went for the Windsor Therom Housing, SCA were completely out of stock, sold their stock of the Kilkenny ones for 29cents in November the guy on the phone said just a little too late Did a quick trip down to Lower Hutt to Road and Track and picked up a nice shiney one, the only piece of real bling on this truck. Will get a hose today to fit. My friend who is also doing this to his truck is going to make a pipe/hose to fit using stock parts so I will add a pic of his setup aswell......

$41 I could of got it off a guy on TradeMe for 20 odd, but I was a little impatient

The only thing I had to do was tickle the bolt holes a little to make it fit perfectly I do have one pipe from SCA done, am on my way down now for the other half as the one I did get was slightly too short......pics to follow tonight

Yusssss, hoses all in place...SCA for the win on pick a part Top hose is pretty well much Holden 3.8 top hose with a Ford back section, (it's just a Ford part number thankfully, wouldn't actually put a Ford part on this truck )fits bang on, misses HEI cap by lots, misses fan by enough and misses belt by 3/4 of an inch. After all that and laying some floor tiles in the wash-house today, I completely forgot to get antifreeze while I was down getting the hoses Ah well, tomorrow is another day

While I was playing around, I had 5 minutes to add a recent purchase off my favorite parts site (TradeMe) and temp put up my new light bar

Looking Good, that's worked out well

Just finished replacing the radius arm bushes for the weekend:roll: I wear them out in about 6 months with the angle of my spring lift

I think I paid a little too much for a 2nd hand light bar, but I thought it looked the goods It is a "genuine aftermarket accessory" though This was the auction on TMe......437273049, I looked at it the first time he listed it and was going to bid then but someone else won it, they never got in touch with him, dude then relisted, lucky me. If you want to make one up I can do up some sort of plan for you, looks pretty easy if you have a mig and some spare time

Not this one, she's a lovely chrome steel job It's twice the weight of the original alloy one

F@%K YEAH!!!!!!! One turn and she fired into life straight away, a little adjustment with a light and all is gonna be mint First impression over stock...........much nicer idle and that is really noticeable, alot smoother through the initial test rev range Time to get out and disco light the timing, will give a better write up of how much a difference this unit has made, including the wallet compared to upgrading coil and module....

Sorry for the late reply, missed the question.

I am definately loving it compared to the OE dizzy. She just feels far more responsive on throttle, not that I had any lag or slugginshness before, just as DieselBoy says "I am going to lurrv the new timing advance curve" and boy do I. Give her a bit of the go fast pedal and you can feel the pull, bit like a 13 year old schoolboy, wants to keep going

Worth the effort, for me Yes. Because I have removed all the lucas crap and installed new electrics it's gonna be easier to troubleshoot in the future, knowing how things where installed. For the price of replacing coils or upgrading to the Bosch system, the full price to install is only an extra $100 over the Bosch but you get a better dizzy in the end, so yes still worth it.

Without going to megasquirt system this is definately the next best thing, and the ease of it to drop in was impressive. Plus it looks the dogs balls having "Thors Hammer" sitting in my engine bay

Iv got an MSII in mine but arn't controlling the spark.

Im thinking of just putting an HEI in with a vacuum and mechanical advance just like you've done.

Have you got any idea of the performance gains avaliable if I used the MSII to control the timing curve?
