difference between 2lt and 2lte

Post by BeamedSurf »

is there much difference between a 2lt and 2lte in terms of the wiring? i.e will a 2lte fit in a truck that used to have a 2lt in? and will a 2lte box fit on a 2lt? i just bought a g/box off tradme and it has alot of extra wires compared to the one that i took out, im guessing the new one is off a 2lte, it is also electronic speedo where as the old one wasnt, is it easy to switch from mechanical to electronic now that i have a gearbox with the plug for electric speedo?

To put a 2LTE in a 2LT truck will be difficult.
There is the loom, ECU and all the relays required...
I wouldn't bother myself...
The manual pumps are more user friendly....
The box will have a few extra bits mainly electronic speedo pickup for 2LTE system....But wont effect your 2LT....

The other way to do it, is take all the electronic gear off the 2lte, and put manual 2lt bits on.

That would be the way if you have a blown 2lt and have found a cheap 2lte to go in. Bear in mind there are different sumps between models that may need to be swapped over, and possibly oil cooler assembly different??

Electronic speedo sender should pop out, and cable one pop back into its place.

Been awhile since I played with this, so I'm willing to stand corrected if I'm wrong at all
