from there i'll get a set of std 80-series rears, bin the fronts that are in it and see where it all sits. after that i'll sort out blocks for the front end. plan is to space the front diff while i'm putting the new one in. i'll sort a panhard from the original i took off, thanks for the info on dropping the mount point.
The coils are too hard, there's no getting around that. they're intended to support the weight of the engine, gearbox and chassis on the front of full-size truck, not the back end of a mid-size. i don't feel there's enough weight in the Surf to compress them nicely even with the geometry sorted.
slide: in the photo it sits at full extension. there's no drop travel at all

note: if you haven't picked up already this isn't my serious build. it's a cheap, mechanically sound de-reg truck i can beat on without having to spend the money to be wof-compliant. I'm a mechanic/fert spreader driver so i do at least know what i'm doing...
and in this case it's was pretty obvious they were the wrong springs when they arrived, but i was bored on a sunday arvo so i put them in to see how it looked
