I know this has been gone over and over again, but I can't find the info I need on the net, I was silly and didn't take note of the relation to the main drive gear and fork shaft and now i dont know where it goes, all I seem to get is it pushes the fork shaft out of the actuator each time i cycle it.
it is what i would call "timing" but I don't know what the settings are.

Re: 70 series cruiser rear diff lock assembly
is it a cable locker or the later elocker?
Re: 70 series cruiser rear diff lock assembly
I'm not familier with 70 series lockers, but assuming there the same or simalar to 80's crusier e-lockers (what I've got), I just made sure diff was in locked position (the selector fork/shaft 'clip' into position), then make sure drive unit is in locked position while removed, and instal
If you break it... build it stronger.

nah I've got ARBs I know fark all about about cable lockers and elockers other than 70 series cruisers came out with both.... thought we might as well find out what sort they are before we progress too far

Have a look at this site
http://www.gearinstalls.com
And this page

He has heaps of info....
Or just google E locker install

Re: 70 series cruiser rear diff lock assembly
its an elocker. im not sure which is which, the bolt which holds the shaft from the actuator onto the fork is to the outside of the diff (closer to the actuator) pretty sure its unlocked.
forgot to mention its a factory 70 series electric locker the car is a PZJ70
I've googled as much as I can and it has helped with rebuilding a testing it which now works fine, but when you remove them your ment to take the sensor/indicator switch off housing off and undo the bolt under there, I didn't realise this and so when the actuator wouldn't come any further I removed the gearbox plate and the main gear which released the actuator, then later I had removed the indicator switch housing and removed the bolt which holds the fork shaft so now I have the fork shaft out of the diff and the actuator, I've put it back into the actuator but im not sure of the timing and iim sure if I just use trial and error I will strip one of the gears.
hope this all makes sense.

Re: 70 series cruiser rear diff lock assembly
Here are a few pictures, so basically the info i need is The length of the shaft coming out of the actuator in relation to the position of the main gear.
Re: 70 series cruiser rear diff lock assembly
don't worry all sorted, for anyones info I found a page that tells exactly what to do
