Re: FFS SURF SOLiD AXEL NOT STARTING
they can be an absolute mish to start if the glowplugs aren't working. Try getting a jumper lead and connect it from positive terminal of battery to glow plug rail (the rail that joins up glowplugs on top) do it for 8-10secs than see if it starts.
Next try cracking off injector lines and see if there is fuel there.
Did it crap out? or just not start one day?

tow starts a nope tried it been siting for a wile before i brought it of nibz and he glowed it up for about 10 sec and she fired first time and that was about a week ago towed it to mine Thursday and glowed her up for a while and nope she wouldn't crank over. so me and a mate pulled out the glow plugs checked the fuel lines and shit .then nibs and i came over and did the glow plug trick and check through everything and we just sat there looking at the engine for about 20 mins with no idear whats up.

or glow plug timer, as above test it by running power straight to the rail, you can also use a multimeter or test light to see how far your getting power there are a few things along the way that can fail
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experiance!

It sure as hell isn't a 2lte, not even sure if it is a 2lt, coulkd be a non turbo unit.
Check for bullet holes, if any are found, it won't run
It obviously does crank over, but it won't fire, yes? As others have said hotwire the glow plugs and check electrical wires to the inj pump.
You have cleared the fuel filter and put new drizzle in it haven't you?

Re: FFS SURF SOLiD AXEL NOT STARTING
are the glow plugs 12 volt or 5-6 volts i know some are 5-6 volts,
if you cant tow start the truck i'd be looking at fuel system. power to pump. fuel solinod has power.
dear i stay it check the timing, "is it a belt or a chain" i dont know

Re: FFS SURF SOLiD AXEL NOT STARTING
sorry its a 2lt the bullet holes are custom..... and i have no idear what the glows are and i when i tow start it it just compression locks .
Re: FFS SURF SOLiD AXEL NOT STARTING
oh and ive taken the glows out and tried to crank it over and being all musical and shit and shooting out diesel out of the wholes so its not fuel related.

What gear and speed you trying to tow start in?
But it cranks over on startermotor at ok speed?
Re: FFS SURF SOLiD AXEL NOT STARTING
tried 2 3 4 and from any where between 10 and 30ks and and yup she cranks over all goods on the starter
Re: FFS SURF SOLiD AXEL NOT STARTING
That POS has been sitting in a paddock for at least 3 years fella, there is a better than average chance that there is water in the fuel. Drain it, replace the filter and then you know that the fuel is sound

Re: FFS SURF SOLiD AXEL NOT STARTING
i had her running for over an hour all up so doubt fuel issue.. she would glo up and start hassle free.. (not a car sales man line either, i really did... no really..)
it's defo a 2lt and the glo light on the dash isnt illuminated when ignition turned on..
as discussed, check the power in/out on the gloplug timing relay. did try 'hotwiring' the thing with a positive straight to the glo rail, but with no luck.. defo worth tryin again though as i was doin it with my pissy little toyota camrys battery.
i did find when running it up once that i had it running with battery in it etc and when i disconnected the battery the engine stopped.. thoughts? it did however start up again sweet as after connecting and a few times after that also. so i never burnt anything out..
a bit of time searching and tracing things under there will find the issue... sigh..

Put it in 4WD.....
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods

Re: FFS SURF SOLiD AXEL NOT STARTING
just tried "hot-wiring" it that's a no go and when i got a mate around next ill try tow starting it in 4wd just wondering how will it make a difference? the Only thing i could think it is the glow plugs are pooped but its pritty unlucky if all 4 died at the same time.Ill drain the fuel as well i think but i dont know how it could go "off" in a week .
the battery is fine because its the one thats out of my ln130 thefuel lines arnt block as ive taken the glow plugs out and tried turning it of and its a musical of diesel and air.
a nibz told me its probably a relay or some shit in there thats not doing what it should . but i am buy passing the relays buy going straight to the glow plugs from the battery so it should start then?
cheers Sam

more contact area on the tarmac to cause grip for turnin over said diesel..
grab a multimeter and test things and begin a route cause analysis traceback...

Re: FFS SURF SOLiD AXEL NOT STARTING
Hey dude try this:
Get a length of wire 2m(ish) put one end on the positive terminal and the other end on the fuel cut off solenoid on the diesel pump (its at the top/back of the pump, just look for the wires and the nut holding them on).
Once wire is connected (just hold it on, wouldnt recommend leaving it on incase it slips and arcs on something), get someone to turn the truck over and see if you have any luck.
If it starts then replace the fuse 15a from memory, under the dash.
Good luck
Caleb
