if your checking stuff over for a wof its mostly mechanical shit, brakes (well we dont have to worry about those coz you already stuck new disc pads in the other day  ) but you might want to pull the drums off the back and clean all the mud and shit out, inspect the shoes, free up the adjusters and adjust them up, check the steel brakelines for rust and the flexible hoses for cuts, perishing or buldges, if your handbrakes on the back of the transfercase there should be an adjuster cam to tweake that up, check all your steering balljoints and suspension bushes for play, check all your lights and electrics are working etc etc..... sometimes its just easier to take it in for a wof inspection to get the fail sheet and just do all the shit on the list or you endup doing a whole pile of stuff they dont ask you to do :x

if your servicing the truck all of the above and check/replace the fluids, theres probably 100 bucks worth of diff and gearbox oil so you probably just want to check that its good clean oil before you go changing it for the sake of it, engine oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter, grease all the chassis points, if your soild front axle pull down the swivel housings and check/repack the CV's and wheel bearings etc etc

amen to doing all the filters, grease all the driveshaft nipples etc even jack the front up and check the front wheel bearings.
i'd even run a good injector cleaner through it to clear it out

if anyone needs bits and pieces, bowl into BNT in hornby and i'll sort out a set discount for ORE members.
cheers
