Head milling in Christchurch?

Post by dtchch »

My zook overheated and I'm currently doing the head gasket (although I think it was because of the cylinder head bolts being loose down one side). Is there a place in chch I can take the head to be tested for warp and flattened if need be?
How much is this likely to set me back?

Cheers :)

Hi there,

There used to be a place out Hornby way that did them, can't remember the name. I live in Rangiora and now that "precision engineering" out here does a bit of head work e.g. crack testing so it might be worth ringing them.

Cheers

Flemings cylinder heads, about $75 for a surface, or $115 including a pressure test, he can also supply head bolts, gaskets etc at sharp prices.

Dave at Chch cylinder heads is bloody good to deal with also, he does all my head work and never had any issues.

Anyone have an email addy for Steve? Hard to call while I'm at work, maybe leave him a message tonight.

$125 for that work sounds ideal, probably worth getting it done for that kinda $$
