Well having set up the water/air intercooler I couldn't stop there.
I have now fitted a water injection kit from coolingmist.com.
Having hauled the boat up north and back for the Christmas break I'm pretty impressed with the results.
I get a bit more power, but the best thing is I can use all the power without putting the egt through the roof. Even fully laden going up the meanest inclines I could use full throttle and not exceed 600 degrees.
With the intercooler alone it would hit 700 at full throttle and prior to that it would hit 800 at half throttle.

And the best thing you don't see is the steam cleaning thats going on inside your engine don't forget to do an oil change in the first 1000kms
Re: TD27 Water Injection
hi just a couple of silly questions, does this get injected through injectors? and do you mix the water methanol or do you buy it. cheers

In this case it gets injected post intercooler, but pre manifold via a single nozzle.
There are of course different options.
I tend to prefer simple.
You don't need to use methanol - and I haven't.
Water works just fine.
You can however use ethanol, and some say there is little difference between the 2 in terms of performance.
Metholated spirit is mostly ethanol with various additives to stop people drinking it. One of the additives used to be methanol (not sure if it still is) hence the name.
Metholated spirit is also miscable.
It seems to work just fine, though the odorant makes you want to puke on a long trip.
Though as noted water works fine also.
