First check can be done in the truck.
Get a multimeter and check the OHMS...or continuity.
One lead to earth and one on the glow plug connection. You will have to remove the rail that connects them all together.
If its open circuit its dead.
Otherwise like has been said.
Remove, put body of glowplug to earth and touch the top to positive.
If its working it will start to glow........

I had issues with mine. Replaced them. Cost a sh&$t load changed the relay etc. improved for 2 weeks then still had issues starting.

Fix turned out to be the $15 wire that fed the rail. Cost me just over $550 to fix that $15 wire.

Moto of the story check the wire that fed the plugs too.
Latest mod, pin stripes, hit the same branch I did on the way in on the way out.

Make sure they are 12v before you put them on a battery. Some are 7v (might be 9v) if I remember correctly

well im not entirely sure if its the plugs, the engine is in a dereg river hack and i dont think its had much use, plus the diesel in the tank is stale too apparently, this could be the problem? and if i run it in and have new diesel it should go allgood?

hey niblik, u have no idea how many ks that things done ae?
i might just carry on with taking shit off an putting onto my truck then once its all there and goes then il get onto making it start easier, ive had it goin for ages, went down the ashley river last night, goes like charm mate, its just when starting for the first time after its been sitting for hours, so the glow plugs are a suspect in this situation
