2.5 diesel or 2.8 ?

One for the experts,

I bought a 87 2.5 T Pajero SWB some time ago and when I first bought it I changed all the filters , The oil filter for some reason was the wrong size, To-day I have just bought another set of filters but while in Supercheap I checked there chart for Ryco filters, My 2.5 T pajero takes Z372 oil filter yet the chart says that only the 2.8 has the Z372 filter , I know when I bought the Pajero it just had a new engine and gearbox I am now wondering if I have a 2.8 engine?

Quite different motors, does it have a cam belt (2.5) or a cam chain (2.. Big job putting 2.8 into where a 2.5 came from.

Not surprising they have the same filter though...
