im just putting a safari gearbox into my terrano and have come across a wee question that i.m not to sure on, hopping you guys can help.
the thrust bearing ? the one on the end of clutch fork that slides up and down the input shaft and pushes against the pressure plate.
the question is where dose it sit ? dose it rest against the pressure plate or is it a few mm away ? how much throw should i allow for ? sorry for the dumb question i never need to know before this.
thrust bearing pressure.

Re: thrust bearing pressure.
nup you dont want it sitting against the pressure plate or it'll wear out pretty quick, you want a bit of freeplay on the clutch fork so it can move back off the pressure plate

Re: thrust bearing pressure.

Re: thrust bearing pressure.
this is why you should not drive with your foot resting on the clutch peddal.
