It'll STILL warp, Turoa, but if you support the axle ends on solid vee blocks, you can rotate it to check. Spot heating the high side and cooling it with cold water will pull it staright agin, just go for it. Looking good so far.

Well done.

Didnt really matter if the housing warped because I didnt end up using that one anyway

Now if my front housing was bent then id be a tad annoyed. But it seems that everythings in the right place, so I'm happy :)

little update. I got the chassis rolling today.

Image

And for the people who look really closely, those are NOT the shock towers I am going to use. They are there so I can alter the height once all the weight is on it. Then once its right, a shock hoop will be made.

And that is NOT the way the coil over will be mounted. The top is on the wrong way so we can mount it easily. It will be mounted properly when the hoops are made 8)

are they going to be sitting that close to the chassis rails 2s? if so, a point to think about is when they articulate downwards and the other side goes up, the shock/spring unit will move slightly towards the chassis rail? wouldnt it? i dont know by how much though and i'm sure you've nutted all that out though.. :D

nice work fella..

keep us posted on the rest of it.. :thumleft:

p.s.. get out of the chatroom and in the shed..

unfortunately, they were for a very heavy duty vehicle (from a J**P.... typical) and they are also nitrogen charged so sitting there, they are on full extension. Hopefully there wont be a problem with them, but ill need to get all the weight on and do some flexing to test it.
