Toyota Blizzard - Christchurch - New to OffRoadExpress

Post by BlizzardAza »

Hi All,

I'm Aaron from Christchurch, just brought my dream truck from Trademe pick it up tonight, I even sold my much loved Yamaha Raptor Quad Bike to make room in the garage and allow me to afford to buy the new truck. Although I work every second weekend I am really keen to join a club to get my experience up and have some fun 4wding. Be cool to go out Waitangi weekend if anyone is heading out?

Cheers, Aza

Looks very high for a short wheel base. Add a winch, and your set to go. Should have a whole lot of fun in that 8)

Hope you have a heap of fun with it, but remember the golden rule that it is not a car, or a quad bike and cannot be driven like either of them. Especially prudent with such a high SWB.

welcome to the forum and 4WDing Aza, dont want to sound like the fun police but you'll find that thing will be pretty tippy and will fall over pretty easy so take it slow and get used to its COG and capability before it ends up on its side

Welcome to ORE, The CHCH guys are a good bunch of guys to go out with well most of them anyway, but youll learn alot from them.
But as marty said you truck will be tippy being so tall so do take it easy and get used to it, theres been a couple of really tall blizzards fall over recently.
But cool looking truck and all the best. :D

Yes that is the trademe link and the right youtube link goes really well, very confusing took it out last night to get myself familiar - Switches for both air lockers in the front and mech lockers in the back are confusing, thankfully my other 4x4 which i'm selling is a lifted Daihatsu Rugger on 35s with a similar COG but your definitely right I will take it easy because on the back of my mind whenever I am off road will be how much this beast cost me so the last thing I want to do is roll it!!!
Anyone heading out 4wding 4/5th of Feb??? - Have weekend off; NEED TO GO 4WDING!

Both air lockers in the front???? Should only have one  You should have a compressor switch and a locker switch. Compressor has to be turned on to engage air locker

Sorry by both I meant both switches; 1 for the front and 1 for the rear your right. Also have the pleasant noise of the compressor everytime I start my new Beast but only lasts for 5-10secs.
