Wanted to get a full soft top (incl clears for above the 1/2 doors) that uses the 6 point roll cage as the frame.

Have also played with the idea of an FJ45 top and back and covering the rear tray with checker plate - ute styles - as already have a top and this may work out cheaper.

Need something to keep the sun off my ginga head

Have a small list of things on the To Do list to tick off yet... and a few teething issues to sort out, but am really happy with the truck so far.

Need a bit more protection in cab so have picked up a FJ45 ute roof and rear to give the cab some protection from flying mud (tyres stick out way past the guards). This is work in progress but put the roof on temporarily for the OCS Safari this weekend gone. Also made up some door cards out of polished alloy checker plate:

So this is a photo of the truck at the start of the weekend:

And this is it at the end of the weekend:

OCS Safari was an awesome weekend. Hosts where great, facilities and feed was cool, and the farmland was full of great places to play.

So here is a little taster of just how the 40 got so dirty, the first action vid of the new build (full screen it and turn it up loud)

Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

Cheers,

Yeah, my original plan was to do a soft top mainly to keep the weight down (thats why I sold the FJ45 roof and back to you  ). But I've since had a couple of quotes and a custom soft top made for my truck will cost big $$$$

Also, am a little nervous about what would happen if I rolled upside down into soft mud, or onto a trees... I'm assuming these are the reasons the winch challenge guys are supposed to have a hard top over the cab??? (think that is right?)

Hahaha, Out of about 15 trucks only 2 of us were stupid enough to try and get the whole way across the bog (most just sat and watched for amusement).

Just to confirm I wasn't stuck... I only stopped there to do some eeling... and check the tire pressures... and then do a winch recovery demonstration.... NOT :!:

At the end of that vid the front tires where under about a meter of water - no one made it through without winching.

Yeah, was the Top2Bottom guys. They were in a big rush and doing the vid posting during the trip so you could understand if a couple of mistakes were made.
