4wding in southland around invercargill

hey ive just moved down to invers from alex .Is there any good 4wding ,playing spots etc not to far from invercargill

theres a few. If you want to get your truck dirty then head ou to longwoods and go along hamilton road. Make sure you've got decent clearance and tyres and or a winch.or the loacl cocky will sting you couple hundy to pull you out.
Dummys beach in the catlins is another ok one.Boring till the last 500m then its all on.esp if you take the left road.Again pay to have winch or another vehcile and good tyres.its an hour away tho.
If you wana get muddy after work then head out to the north entrance of the beach. just watch for shit ti some of the ruts. good for rooster tails tho

The Southland Land Rover Club is a good starting point, its not only for land rovers and they go on some great trips.

Be aware that if you going out to the beach, stay off the dunes.
